Places to get products for review

The first one that comes to mind is Crowdtap.  You answer questions to earn points that you later cane exchange for gift cards. They also give out products in exchange for reviews. I have had some problems with them deactivating my account without notice. They claimed my answers were too short.

The next one I would say is the best is Pinecone Research. They do product testing before the product hits the market. you get to keep the product in most cases and they give you points for completing surveys and testing products. The points can be turned in to money or gift cards. one point equals a dollar.

I do reviews on a site called Influenster.  They give away products for you to review on their site and sometimes the brand site. You have to connect all your social media accounts.  You should follow me on there to help get more voxboxes. My handle is @dreamstar1666 .

If you like samples and some regular size products you should try Pinchme. They do surveys and once a month they have samples. You need to log on that day to claim them. they have box giveaways some times.

Sample Source is another good free sample box. They only release boxes four times a year following the seasons. You sign up and when its time they will email you.

I found I new one that I like it does more food-related products. Its called Social Nature. They do vegan, organic, healthy style products. you get coupons for the products in the mail and all you have to do is review them. you get more than enough coupons, so if you like the product you can get more at a discount.

I do have a subscription box from Walmart and it $5 four-times a year, so its seasonally. they do mostly sample but they have a few full-size products. it’s mostly beauty-related.

If you want me to try your products and maybe leave a review. You can use the contacts page to reach me or on one of my social media pages.

My new adventure in car restoration AKA VW super beetles

So this saw palmetto berry season I made a few hundred bucks. me and my boyfriend I found a 1972 Volkswagen super beetle for really cheap. We bought it and now we are looking for ways to restore it. I have always wanted an old bug and I wanted to learn to rebuild it from scratch. This one might be more than I can handle.  I have my boyfriend who has gone to school to become a mechanic and a friend who is a mechanic on the daily.

This is the new car. We have not come up for a name for her . you can leave suggestions for one in the comments or on my social.  My boyfriend wants to name her patches because we are patching her together.

I am going to need a lot of parts she is rusty and was in pieces when we got her. There is an engine and a transmission but I don’t know how bad they are yet. The engine is locked up. the frame is twisted because they dropped her when the moved her here from Ohio. The fenders didn’t make it in the fall. the front and back aprons are bad. The floor pans are gone but most cars her age are like that. the carburetor was laying in a puddle of water in the trunk so, don’t know if it can be rebuilt. We found some more VW parts but they are from older and younger cars.

A few days ago one of the guys we had bought parts from, Wanted his yard clean of the two VW bugs he had and we couldn’t resist free cars.  he had slightly newer bugs and they are not super beetle but we need patch metal and seats, so off we went to get them.

This is the first one we brought home. She is what I believe to be a 1974 sun bug but she is more rusted and full of wasp. the back end is locked up we had to chain her to a tree and pull her off the trailer. It could be the brake or the bearing causing this but I don’t know.

TbareMineralshe second free bug isn’t here yet. She is just the body so I need more manpower to get that one. I will update when I get it here.

I anyone would like to give advice and or donate to this project. I would be very grateful. I have a patron in my about section. if you want to follow me on my social they are available there too.

Update: got the second bug today and it wasn’t that hard. We put it on wood and wenched it on the trailer. which it might be its forever home till we deconstruct it.

Review – Splat Naturals Semi-Permanent Hair Color

I am got to start off by telling you that my natural hair color is blond. It is an ashy blond as of late with all the gray hairs and I don’t get that much sun or it would be lighter.  I don’t mind dying my hair a different color but I do have a lot of hair. It is currently down to my butt. so I do find it hard to sample all hair dyes in general. I only dyed the bottom half of my hair (from top of my ears down).

I received 6 oz of Splat Naturals Semi-Permanent Hair Color in the color red free for review. I found that it smelled like fresh smashed rose petals. its an earthy green scent. I grow roses, so I am familiar with the scent.

I found the squeeze bag to be hard to use out of. I recommend getting a bowl just for dye. The application is messy but not much more than other dyes like it. with ist being a more natural dye you need more time for the dye to take to the hair. I had only three washes of bleeding and that was not bad at all for red dye. I did make a mistake you need to wash your hair with cool water and it been in the 40 and 50 here so I didn’t follow that part.

I was a little disappointed that they have seven different colors but they only did sampling for two of them. I would have loved to try the purple one more. My choices were red or teal. I do like the color even if it doesn’t last and it took some time to do. I would do it again, just better and in the summer.

Review-HughesNet

My mother has had HughesNet for a few years now and I have had the privilege of using it. My mother is on a fixed income, living in the country in the sunshine state. It rains very often and we have hurricanes.

HughesNet is an internet and voice service provider that is broadcast through satellite. at this time they offer 10 to 50 GB plans for the internet. The prices range from $59 to $69. The voice is $29 and international cost extra. you get Caller ID, Call Waiting, Voicemail.

pros:

  • It available anywhere you have a sky.
  • at this moment they offer free installation.
  • they provide you with everything you need for their service.
  • they claim to have faster speeds
  •  paperless
  • They offer Bonus Zone which is a period of time from 2am-8am you get more speed.

cons:

  • it satellite so if its cloudy or raining you have no internet or phone
  • they have a cap on internet use. If you use passed your allowance, speeds are reduced
  •  the price is too high for someone on a fixed or low income
  • you have to have a 2-year contract
  • you can’t do any video or large uploading or your whole months internet will be slow

I found that the first week of service to be that fastest after that it has snail pace. you can not watch youtube or stream Netflix even on the higher costing plans. they say its unlimited but they have caps on speed after your plan is reached. I would not recommend if you can help it.

Florida’s Sheep, wool, and herding dog festival – 2017

In April I went to Ocala’s sheep, wool, and herding dog festival. I found out about it on its last day. I was at a swap at Tractors supply and a lady there told me and my mother about it. I have been very curious about going to one, since I have started to spin and knit wool.

Long story short I end up getting two Suffolk lambs and one passed two days after I got them home. The female is doing awesome, the male passed. They are bottle babies so there was no guaranty on survival. I did raise my lamb inside but I do not recommend it. It had more negative effect then good, mostly the diapers. This was not my first time bottle feeding . I have bottle raised puppies, kittens, rabbits, squirrel, and cows . here some pictures of my little girl Freya.

Review: Reusable kcups

I find that buying k cup coffee to be pricey so I got some reusable  k cup off of amazon. They are cute and useful. This set is for the 2.0 version but I don’t  need the bigger cup. The lid was acting up but once you put it in the machine it stayed put. I love that it comes with more than one. I hate when I go to make tea and it has the funny taste of coffee to it. It says it is good for hot chocolate but I haven’t try that out. There are four of the purple cups but I had used one and it was in the sink drying.

Being A Girl: A Brief Personal History of Violence

The Belle Jar

1.

I am six. My babysitter’s son, who is five but a whole head taller than me, likes to show me his penis. He does it when his mother isn’t looking. One time when I tell him not to, he holds me down and puts penis on my arm. I bite his shoulder, hard. He starts crying, pulls up his pants and runs upstairs to tell his mother that I bit him. I’m too embarrassed to tell anyone about the penis part, so they all just think I bit him for no reason.

I get in trouble first at the babysitter’s house, then later at home.

The next time the babysitter’s son tries to show me his penis, I don’t fight back because I don’t want to get in trouble.

One day I tell the babysitter what her son does, she tells me that he’s just a little boy, he doesn’t know…
